Madrid…what can I say about you? Leaving Paris was a little heartbreaking for me but being able to travel to another country was very exciting! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Spain. Upon entering Madrid’s climate I was reminded of home. It was warm, breezy and the people were actually smiling.

We arrived to Madrid around 7pm-ish, we checked in and just relaxed before hitting the town. We were all so excited to be in a brand new city and were itching to go out. The excitement derived more from the idea that we were closer to “California-Living” than in Paris. Yes, people were actually wearing shorts and flip-flops.
Kapital nightclub is the craze here so we reserved 4 tables and were ready to let loose! I absolutely love dancing to house music and this was my scene! I had such a great time, the night was beautiful and we danced until the sun came out.

El Mercado de San Miguel!
These mojitos were out of this world…the most delicious drink I’ve EVER had!
Sunday morning we began our day kinda late. We didn’t go to sleep until 6am isn and slept until 1pm. Yes we were living that life lol
We woke up starving and decided to hit “el mercado” for some tapas and MORE drinks.
Paella is THE dish and I cannot get enough. We walked around the different plazas and just hung out before siesta hour.
CANDELAS…I have never seen my last name anywhere! I had to snap a picture 🙂
After siesta hour we went back out for dinner and of course CHURROS.
I had several people recommend a place called, “San Gines” and we just had to try them out.

Class Orientation, Walking Tour, Mexican Food and Tapas/Wine Tasting
oldest restaurant in Madrid
in front of the Palace!
After the two hour walking tour we enjoyed authentic food at this Mexican restaurant.
After siesta…tapas/wine tasting began.
Pouring alcoholic cider into our glasses. I have never tasted alcohol like this and it had a very interesting taste, definitely nothing that I’ve ever had before.
My face is like this because I was eating…SHARK! It was actually quite tasty.
These pictures tell it all…no captions needed. 🙂
When strangers become family. I am so grateful to have met these people!
We have so much fun together and everyday is an adventure.
