I wanted to share details and tips from our trip to Salem & Boston from last year because I started planning it around this time. We got some great deals on flights and hotels because we booked a few months ahead of time. Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays, and this has been on my bucket list for years. It was a dream come true to visit this spooky town and to bring our little family with us. Although our sons were small, they still talk about how much fun they had visiting Boston and Salem. Our game plan was to stay in Boston for a few days, and rent a car to drive to Salem early in the morning. The town is small and you can definitely make it a day trip. We woke up early and took the drive to Salem, it’s only about 25 miles from Boston. Another option is taking the ferry which takes about an hour and a half. We arrived early and grabbed a cup of coffee and pastry at the Red Line Cafe. We went during Halloween weekend and it was so packed! We arrived before 9am, and that helped us visit some of the Hocus Pocus movie locations before the crowds.
