Best Dinner Spots in San Jose, CA

Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share with you our favorite dinner spots in San Jose. My husband and I do date night once a week.
We’ve been together for 10 years and it’s so important to remember to take time out of your busy schedule for each other. We’ll be welcoming our first baby in about 2-3 weeks, so we are taking advantage of the time we have left to enjoy time together. We know that once the baby comes our priorities will change a bit, but we’ll be adding 1 more to our table. San Jose is about 45 minutes from San Francisco. We’re in the heart of the Silicon Valley, and we’re filled not only with technology, but also some great food.
We discovered this restaurant through one of our friends. It’s super small located on the Alameda, but the food is amazing. I personally love the scallop tacos, guacamole and their aguas frescas are always done right. It’s a fancy Mexican food restaurant, but with a twist. Definitely recommend making reservations beforehand since it’s a small restaurant it tends to get packed quickly.
My husband and I love Spanish food, we honestly just love Spain in general. One night we felt like reminiscing, so we decided to have dinner here. My husband actually studied abroad in Barcelona for 6 months when he was fresh out of high school. We sat here and he told me stories about his trip and talked for hours. We also really loved the fact that it’s family owned, the workers and owners were so nice and welcoming. It seriously felt like you were eating at home with family. The food of course was so good, and we loved how authentic it was.
As newlyweds we lived in Santana Row. It’s a little plaza type place with lots of restaurants, bars, stores, and entertainment. It’s a great place to visit during the day or at night. Also, a great place for families. Pizza Antica is one of our favorite restaurants at Santana Row. The environment is relaxing and if you sit outside you can people watch and enjoy the summer weather. The pizza is thin and it tastes just like it does in Italy. Anything you order here you’ll enjoy!
First off, let me say this deli closes at 7pm. If you’re looking for an early dinner or even lunch this is the place to be at. It’s nestled away in the East Side hills, and this place is as Italian as it gets. They have the best ravioli in town. It’s authentic and also very affordable. My mom loves this place, and let me tell you she is super picky with food.
Vino Vino is located in San Pedro Square, one of the best places for happy hour and also dinner. If you’re a wine enthusiast this place is for you. They have flights of wine where you can taste a variety of white and reds. Also the food is really good, we love their appetizers. The proscuitto crostini’s, salmon crostinis, caprese salad are all my favorites. The ahi tuna salad is my go-to as well, but since I’m pregnant I haven’t had in a while. This is one of the first places I’ll be going once this baby is born.
As you can probably tell already we have a thing for Italian food. This restaurant is located in Little Italy, and its a bit on the fancier side. Nonetheless, the food is delicious and one of the things we always look for in restaurants is their authenticity. We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to travel and experience food from different countries. Italy is by far one of my favorite countries and their food is just unbelievable.
